The police have appealed for witnesses and information following the report of a burglary that occurred at a residential premises in the Ivy Meadow Mews area of Londonderry at the weekend.

Constable Lynch said: “It was reported that between the hours of 3.30pm and 8.00pm on Saturday, November 26, entry was gained to a residential premises in the Ivy Meadows area of Londonderry via the back door.

“The property was ransacked and a number of valuable jewellery items were stolen.

“We are appealing to anyone that may have any information regarding this incident or to anyone that may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or to anyone that may have been offered similar items for sale in suspicious circumstances to contact Strand Road Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1101 on 26/11/16.

“Or, alternatively if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
