Police notes from Ballymoney/Moyle

Police in Ballycastle are investigating the suspected theft of scaffolding and aluminium shutters from a JCB digger.

The thefts are thought to have occurred between Thursday 12 and Monday 16 September from a building site on the Glenshesk Road.

ARREST

Police arrested a 31 year old man in Ballycastle on Tuesday 17 September on suspicion of breaching bail conditions. The man was released on further bail.

DIESEL THEFT

Police are investigating the suspected theft of diesel from a harvesting machine in Clare Forest, Straid Road, Ballycastle. The theft is believed to have happened overnight between Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 September.

DRUGS ARRESTS

Police arrested a 44-year-old female and a 51-year-old male in connection with the supply of Controlled Drugs on Sunday 22 September.

Houses in the Stroanshesk Park area were searched and items seized.

The man has been charged to North Antrim Magistrates’ Court on 18 October, with being concerned in the supply of Class B and Class C Drugs and Possession of Class B Drugs.

The female has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

CLOUGHMILLS

Police searched a property in Cloughmills on Tuesday 17 September and seized what are believed to be drugs.

No one was arrested at the scene but police enquiries are continuing.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

Police are investigating a report of criminal damage to commercial premises on Charles Street, Ballymoney on Saturday 21 September.

The damage is thought to have occured in the early hours when a six foot outer window was smashed.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.

RASHARKIN ARRESTS

Three men were arrested in Rasharkin in connection with a serious assault in Portglenone on 31 August 2013.

The arrests came on Saturday 21 September. The men were all released on police bail while enquiries continue.

VEHICLES DAMAGED

Police received a report of damage to vehicles parked in the Union Street area of Ballymoney and the nearby vicinity. Damage included head lights smashed, scapes and dents.

The damage is believed to have occured in the early hours of monday morning.

Anyone with information on the matter is asked to contact police.

PORTSTEWART DRUGS FIND

Police made two arrests and seized 1,400 tablets, suspected to be Class C drugs, following the search of a house in the Promenade area of Portstewart on Friday.

The arrests of the two men, aged 26 years old and 37 years old, were made around lunch time today. Police enquiries are continuing.
