Council receives a healthy silver investor in people assessment

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is delighted to be the first Northern Ireland council to receive the coveted Investors in People (IiP) Health and Wellbeing Award – achieved alongside its IiP Silver accreditation.

These two accolades reflect the Council’s commitment to achieving the best from its people.

Mayor, Councillor Alan Givan, said: “This is a proud moment for the council and a positive reinforcement of what we already knew – our employees are the engine of the council and getting the best from them is how we support the development of our community, making the area a great place to live, work and visit.”

David Burns, Chief Executive added: “This is a fantastic achievement for the council – the perfect recognition for our brilliant and hardworking team. The council is on a journey of transformation, making sure the community gets the best we can deliver and being recognised as supporting, developing and caring for our staff wellbeing in the midst of such an important and comprehensive change programme is reflective of the attitude and commitment of Team Lisburn Castlereagh. While this is a positive step on our journey, we cannot rest on our laurels and we will continue to use our positive people practices to further develop our high performing and innovative council.”

Alderman Paul Porter, Vice-Chair of the council’s Corporate Services Committee, concluded: “All our staff work hard to meet our corporate objectives and we are delighted that these awards publicly acknowledge their efforts. By dedicating time and resources to care for our staff we remain able to deliver top class services across Lisburn Castlereagh.
