Veteran Ulster Unionist representative Roy Beggs has missed out on being re-elected for the party in East Antrim.
Mr Beggs, who was first elected to Stormont in 1998, has been eliminated at the second stage of this year’s count having received 3,549 first preference votes.
Following the elimination of Siobhán McAlister (SDLP) and Mark Bailey (Green Party) at the first stage, transfers took Mr Beggs’ total up to 3,634 votes, placing him eighth out of the remaining candidates.
