Pudsey support isappreciated by staff

A memorable night was held with acts including John Rafferty, who appeared on BBC’s The Voice, the Clarion’s very own ‘Bobby (Dave) Darin’ featuring ‘The Clarionettes’, (housekeepers: Christine, Diane, Elaine and Jane), also Kathleen and Sarah on their sponsorship challenges.

The staff expressed gratitude to those who supported the evening with a special thanks to Mr Kearney, Mr Carson and all local businesses who contributed gifts for the raffle, plus Pudsey for making a special appearance.

A total of £1,800.00 was raised.

Other organisations in the borough also joined in the annual extravanganza in support of children’s charities, including staff at Meadowbridge Surgery in Whitehead, who dressed up to raise money.

Model Primary School supported Children in Need with a Superhero Day, which saw pupils and staff don costumes of their favourite crime fighting characters such as Batman, Spiderman and Wonder Woman.

Supporting over 2,600 projects 365 days of the year, Children in Need is working to change the lives of young people.
