Queen Street lights to stay put

The pedestrian crossing at Queen Street in Ballymoney is staying put, Roads Service have informed Ballymoney council.

At a meeeting with representatives of the Service, the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Ian Stevenson, claimed there was potential for a fatality because of the location of the lights.

“I have asked for them to be removed in the past and would continue to do so,” Councillor Stevenson said.

However, Roads Service representative, John McKinley, said they had considered the previous requests and they were “not sure that there was any benefit in addressing or passing on the complaint to the Traffic Section again.”
