Quiz to raise funds for Diamond Centre defibrillator

A COLERAINE woman is hoping to raise enough money to have a defibrillator installed at the Diamond Centre in Coleraine.

Alison Campbell knows only too well the importance of these specialised medical devices after her mum, June, passed away last March following a cardiac arrest.

In her mum’s memory, Alison has organised a table quiz to raise funds for the defibrillator.

The quiz will take place in The Bull’s Eye on Friday, June 22 at 7.30.

Teams of up to six people are invited to come along and support this very worthy cause, the cost per person is £3.

“It’s really our way of giving something back,” told Alison.

“I was so touched by the story of Bolton footballer Fabrice Muamba that I thought it was a good way of getting the whole community involved in something that could help others.”

Local businesses have been donating prizes for a raffle and Alison is hoping that the target of £1,700 can be reached on the night.
