Sean still serves up the best!

MAGHERAFELT'S Sean Owens is proving he still serves up the best culinary delights, after being named Co Londonderry's best chef in the Irish Restaurant Awards 2010.

The chef from Gardiners picked up the award last Monday (March 29) in the category which was sponsored by Louis Latour.

Nominations for the awards were made by readers of the Sunday Independent Life Magazine, members of the Restaurants Association of Ireland and by regional judging panels.

Sponsored by Santa Rita/Sunday Independent Life Magazine, the ceremony took place in the Hilton Hotel in Belfast.

The awards ceremony was hosted by Emma Cowen (Editor of Hospitality Review Northern Ireland) and attended by 150 industry peers.

All county winners will now compete for the Regional and All Ireland Title which will be announced at the Irish Restaurant Awards in the Burlington Hotel Dublin on Wednesday, June 9.
