Special mass for school milestone

LISMORE Comprehensive School opened its doors for the very first time in September, 1972 and to mark the 40th Anniversary of this occasion, the school is planning a series of events which it hopes will bring together pupils, staff, governors, parents and friends of Lismore, both past and present.

Celebrations begin with a special mass in St Anthony’s Church in Craigavon at 2pm on Sunday, celebrated by Bishop McAreavey, with refreshments afterwards in St Anthony’s Hall.

Later in this school year Lismore plan to include a variety concert featuring the school’s musical talent, past and present, a ‘Down Memory Lane’ photographic archive display, and a 40th anniversary magazine.
