Sports clubs benefit from £53k of funding
Nine local sports clubs have received council grants totalling more than £53,000.
Cliftonville Cricket Club were awarded £13,554 towards the cost of laying a three-bay practice area, Academy Sports Club £12,655 towards its sports hall refurbishment and Ballyclare RFC £8,190 for pitch improvements.
Other organisations to benefit under the council’s latest round of funding for private sports clubs included Mallusk Athletic Football Club (£6,298), Mossley Hockey Club (£5,076), Templepatrick Cricket Club (£2,459) and Go-lift Weighlifting Club (£2,251).
