If you are interested in finding out more about Rainbows, Brownies or how to become an adult volunteer go along to Cloughmills Primary on Tuesday, June 2, at 7pm.

Through regular meetings, special events, day trips, sleepovers, camps and holidays, Rainbows and Brownies learn new hobbies, play music, explore other cultures and get adventurous outdoors.

Girls can also extend their knowledge and abilities by working towards Brownie interest badges covering different hobbies and activities from Science investigator to Circus skills.

Rainbows have lots of fun too. During meetings girls can take part in games, songs, parties, celebrations and more.

Emily McIlvenna, North Antrim County Commissioner says: “Girlguiding offers young girls the opportunity to develop as individuals and take part in a host of adventurous activities in a safe girl-only environment.

“Currently there are no uniformed organisations meeting in Cloughmills and we thought now would be a good opportunity to introduce guiding to the local community. We encourage girls to look around them and learn about their own environment and community. We also help them understand that they are part of a wider world.

“We are always on the lookout for new volunteers. Volunteering with Girlguiding enables you to play a part in giving girls and young women incredible experiences and self-confidence in a safe, girl-only space,” Emily said.
