The Joy of Quilting at the Tower Museum

AN exhibition entitled “The Joy of Quilting” - organised by the North West Quilters Guild - is currently being exhibited at the Tower Museum and will continue throughout the month of June.

The official launch of the exhibition took place on Monday and was presided over by the newly elected Mayor, Alderman Maurice Devenney.

This exhibition shows examples of the work of the members of the North West Quilters Guild, which were founded in January 2009.

The exhibition aims to advance skills, knowledge of quilting, patchwork and related sewing and stitching activities as well as create better awareness of the work carried out by the Guild.

Margaret Edwards of Derry City Council’s Heritage and Museum Service, welcoming the exhibition said it was a great opportunity for local members to showcase their expertise and skills.
