Time capsule from 1839 opened today
The Gwynn’s Institute time capsule, dating from 1839, will be opened in Londonderry today.
The capsule was discovered last month in the former Gwynn’s Institute building in Brooke Park in the Cityside.
Conservator Stefanie White will be present to opening of the lead capsule and the preservation of the contents.
The opening will take place at the Tower Museum in the city centre tomorrow afternoon.
