Told officers “I don’t give a f**k I’m a top player for Northern Ireland” during incident in Cookstown

Christopher Sean Patrick Curran, of Churchill Park, Portadown pleaded guilty to the offence in relation to an incident on James Street on April 26 this year.

A court heard how officers were on patrol on the street at around 12.01am when they walked past the Shish Mahal takeaway outlet and observed the defendant standing inside shouting ‘scumbags’ repeatedly at the officers.

Police asked Mr Curran to step outside while they spoke to him, he was asked to produce ID to which he replied “I don’t have to give you f**k all”. Police warned him about his behaviour and he continued to be aggressive squaring up to officers. Police cautioned him for disorderly behaviour to which he replied: “I don’t give a f**k, I’m a top player for Northern Ireland.

Sentencing Mr Curran, District Judge Bernie Kelly asked him had he anything to say to which he replied he didn’t normally drink that much. Judge Kelly said not to blame alcohol for his behaviour. He was fined £215.
