Offering assurances on the services that will be provided during a recent Foyleside Shopping Centre event, the transport company engaged with members of the public specifically to gauge feedback on proposals for a potential new train station in Londonderry.

To date, funding for a new station is not available but Translink is considering the feasibility of upgrading and/or relocating the train station. A series of options have been developed for consideration including: Refurbishing existing station, a new Ebrington Station, relocation to the original Waterside Train Station and a new ‘Waterside Link’ Station.

A brochure and passenger questionnaire outlining proposals are also available online at www.translink.co.uk/watersidestation. There will also be information displays in Foyle Street Bus Station and the Waterside Train Station when the public consultation events are complete.

Deadline for public responses is May 24.
