Twelfth plans are underway

Preparations are already well underway for the biggest date in the marching season calendar - The Glorious Twelfth.

This year the local South Antrim Combine parade will be hosted by Lisburn District No 6.

With just over a month to go, the final touches are now being put to the plans for the parade, which will include thousands of Orangemen and bands.

The brethren and bands will assemble at the Wallace Park on the morning and will make their way through the city centre to the north of the city, where the demonstration field will be held at Ballymacoss.

Permits for private lodge catering, car parking for elderly/disabled and traders will be issued in Lisburn Orange Hall from Monday June 20 to Thursday June 23 from 7.30pm to 9.30pm each evening.

Applicants are asked to ensure that relevant forms are completed correctly.

Private lodge catering permits are priced £10 per permit, elderly/disabled permits are £5 per permit, trading permits are £100 per permit and permits for face painters/balloon sellers are £50 per permit.

All permit holders must display the appropriate permits and co-operate fully with Lisburn District marshals.

All private lodge catering vehicles and traders must in the demonstration field by 10.30am sharp. There are a limited number of trader permits available for purchase and these will be issued on a first come/first services basis.

Any person acting on a commercial basis will be required to have current public liability insurance and all other relevant documentation available for inspection.

Applications for a trader permit must be completed on the application form, their application must be accompanied by a letter of approval from a private lodge
