16 oil and gas wellsare now obsolete
SIXTEEN oil and gas wells drilled off our coast since 1965 have either been abandoned or plugged.
Envronment Minister Alex Attwood said: “A total of sixteen wells have been drilled to date, the earliest of which dates back to 1965.
“Fifteen of the wells have been abandoned and one, on the North Antrim coast, is currently plugged.”
