Clooney Soccer School says St Columb’s Park Leisure Centre’s closure this summer will leave a hiatus in local provison until a new £12m sports campus opens in early 2015.

Carson King, Club Treasurer, says: “St Columb’s Park is closing shortly for a complete rebuild and is not due to open until 2015. A significant number of local people use this centre on a regular basis, not only for soccer, but for a range of activities including martial arts, zumba, yoga, step aerobics and more.” He said that if they can raise £38k they will eventually have 1,000 people using the proposed hall on a weekly basis.
