Internationally renowed acts line up for UK City of Culture 2013 jazz fest

AMONGST the highlights of this year’s UK City of Culture 2013 jazz festival are internationally renowned acts the Neil Cowley Trio, Pink Martini, The Puppini Sisters and Soul Rebels.
On Saturday night, May 4, its time to glam up at the Grand Vintage Ball featuring the Puppini Sisters. Don your best vintage threads, put your dancing shoes on and throw some impressive shapes at as the Venue in Ebrington gets a lavish makeover in homage to the citys cultural and social past, revisiting the music, styles, trends and fashions of the 1920s-1960s. The opening night, Thursday night, May 2, will see Soul Rebels unleash their New Orleans sound which embraces the rich jazz traditions of their homeland and add life affirming vocals and grooves aplenty at the Nerve Centre. On Saturday night, May 4, it’s time to glam up at the Grand Vintage Ball featuring the Puppini Sisters.

Also on Saturday Neil Cowley will take to the stage at the Nerve Centre with his band The Neil Cowley Trio. Neil is perhaps best known for his work on Adele’s 21 Album.
