Leah hails triumphant compatriot across the Sperrins

LONDONDERRY television contestant Dr Leah Totton has sent a message of congratulations to Tyrone television contest winner Andrea Begley, who hails from Pomeroy just across the Sperrins.

Andrea, who is the niece of the queen of Country Irish, Philomena Begley, won the state broadcaster’s talent show, ‘The Voice,’ at the weekend.

In response Leah, the daughter of Trevor and Lorraine, and originally from Kilfennan, posted on a popular micro-blogging website that Andrea was “a brilliant talent and a worthy winner.”

Leah’s bid to win ‘The Apprentice’ television contest is now being shown by the state broadcaster.

She graduated from the University of East Anglia with a degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with distinction in 2011.

She attended Lisnagelvin Primary School and Foyle and Londonderry College.

She recently took part in the contest to win an apprenticeship with the Amstrad founder Alan Sugar.
