Top pupil jets in from Spain for GCSE gong

FORMER Londonderry pupil Mercedes Monton flew in especially from Spain to pick up her award for the top Spanish GCSE result in Northern Ireland in 2012.

Mercedes, a former pupil of Thornhill College, picked up her GCSE Top Candidate award at the CCEA’s Celebrating Excellence ceremony in Lisburn.
