Very special birthdaycelebration forDesmond and Lawrence
THERE was a special birthday celebration for two local men recently as they both celebrated their 75th birthday.
Former workmates Desmond Cannaway and Lawrence Catney were joined by Lawrence’s brother Joe as the three men caught up on old times and had a special celebration together.
Desmond, who now lives at Parkside Nursing Home, said the three were “like brothers” and had enjoyed a lovely day together when they met at the home and caught up on “old times.”
Desmond said: “We would have associated after work. We worked in W.J. Gamble, Knockmore, where I was a welder for 30 years. We had a lovely day, we talked about the old times. We are all like brothers.
Desmond hopes the three men can meet on a regular basis to spend some time together.
