Workhouse story on the stage

Just weeks after the Workhouse Museum closed its doors The Playhouse is getting ready to re-produce Patrick Durnin’s ‘The Thirteen Steps.’

“This tells the moving story of the poor and destitute people forced to go into the workhouse, where families were separated, where conditions were squalled and cramped, and where 40 people died each month,” Áine McCarron at The Playhouse said. It runs from Wednesday to Saturday, 14-17.
