Youth speaking competition

ENVIRONMENTAL Youth speak, now in its 12th year, is an annual public speaking competition open to all pupils throughout Northern Ireland.

The competition encourages environmental awareness by giving participants the opportunity to research and debate environmental issues. This year's Junior Section Topic was 'My rubbish – is it a waste or resource?' and the Senior Section was "Back to the future! Learning from the past to reduce waste"

Well done to all the children who took part and for their excellent speeches on the day. Congratulations to Junior Section winner Finola N Fhearsthe from Gaelscoil an Chaistil and also congratulations to Senior Section Winner Lucy Wilmont - Ballycastle High School. Both will go on to represent Moyle District Council in the Regional and NI Finals in Magherafelt District Council.
