Annaghmore enjoyed derby delight by 3-9 to 1-8 on Sunday despite late pressure from Tir na nOg.

Owen McCormack’s goal proved significant as Annaghmore entered the interval with a lead of 1-6 to 0-4.

McCormack produced the finishing touch to cap clever approach play by Connor Cullen and Daire McConville.

Oisin MacIomhair posted points before the break for Annaghmore - alongside his brother, Ciaran, plus Connor Cullen - with Patrick McQuade and Shea Reavey also impressive.

A dramatic period early in the second half secured Annaghmore’s control of proceedings when a Tir na nOg dismissal arrived in the aftermath of a second goal - with the MacIomhair brothers linking up as the latter found the net.

Annaghmore struggled to increase the margin of victory across the next 20 minutes and Tir na nOg sparked a last-gasp revival to close the gap.

The experienced Brian Mallon steered home the Tir na nOg highlight by grabbing a goal against Armagh’s Matthew McNiece.

Additional points inside a three-minute flurry left Tir na nOg down by just two.

However, Annaghmore managed to regroup to protect the reduced advantage and Connor Cullen’s goal cemented success - with second-half points from Ciaran MacIomhair, Matthew McNeice and Owen McCormack thanks to support by Michael Devlin, John McCormack, Paul Tennyson and Steven McConville.

Annaghmore B produced a midweek defeat of Ballyhegan on 3-12 to 3-10 as Conor Robinson and Shane McGeown dominated the scoresheet.

TIR NA NOG

Tir na nOg senior ladies enjoyed success over a depleted Dorsey Emmett’s side in the league - with Natasha Duffy, Colette Carvill, Megan Hamill, Roisin Creaney, Lana Black and Sophie Weir impressive across the win by 4-15 to 3-6.

The club B players recorded a Championship victory over Carrickcruppen.

Tir na nOg under 12s returned from the weekend tournament in Annaclone as Kingsmill Cup winners following fixtures against Clan na Gael, Clan na mbanna, St Bronagh’s Rostrevor and Wolfe Tones.

The Go Games programme included Tir na nOg under 10s against St Paul’s.
