Area liberations mark start of young bird season

The NIPA started the young bird season with a series of Area Liberations, with the poor weather a lot of lofts were unable to train and numbers across the country were well down and a number of clubs did not send.

The local birds in Mid Antrim were released in Mullingar. All Sect B and the Coleraine Area, liberation at 11.00am in a helping South West wind.

The Dickey team from Randalstown were 1st in MAC and 1st Open NIPA recording velocity 1596 while McFall & McManus on 1595 were best in Borough of Ballymena.

The ever successful partnership took the top spot in the first race of the young bird season with a velocity of 1595 and also 2nd Section. Blair & Rankin were second club and ninth section.

Also our member Nicola Gilbert recently took part in a charity cycle for Muscular Dystrophy UK and would like to thank those from the pigeon scene who supported her. The current total is £430 and rising.
