Ballycastle take the points at Moyola

Moyola 1, Ballycastle United 4

Ballycastle United travelled to their opponents Moyola and got off to a good start in their first league game.

The lads started well and were quick to create chances and it wasn’t long before the strike force of Oran Kearney and David Kilgore worked well together and knocked at the door early on but couldn’t find a goal.

The midfield duo of Conor Boyd and Callum Campbell were strong as per usual with both lads creating chances to trouble the Moyola defence with Conor adding to the attack as always.

As the half went on the Ballycastle boys started to dominate more and more but they still couldn’t find their way through to get a goal.

In the second half Moyola started well and started to put heavy pressure on the Ballycastle defence. However, after Moyola missed key chances, Ballycastle counter attacked and the determination and persistence paid off as the prolific strike force of Oran Kearney linked up for David Kilgore to put them one up.

Moyola weren’t going to let Ballycastle have things all their own way and came back on the attack, managining to peg one back shortly after.

All credit to Ballycastle, they showed good character to get back in front with a goal from Oran Kearney.

After that Ballycastle settled and they made sure of the fixture when they increased their lead with more goals from David and Oran. There was no doubt they were disappointed not to have scored more than they did.

All in all this was a good team performance and everyone was more than happy to come away with the three points.

We would like to thank Moyola for their kind hospitality after the game, it was much appreciated.
