Carrick Grammar paired with Lurgan College in Schools’ Cup

Carrickfergus Grammar School’s 2015 Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Cup campaign will begin with the visit of Lurgan College in the New Year.

The draw for the opening round was made at the Kingspan Stadium where the school was represented by First XV captain Jake Porter.

Round one draw:

Banbridge Academy v Antrim Grammar School or Strabane Academy

Friends’ School, Lisburn v Portadown College

Limavady Grammar School v Wellington College

Regent House v Royal School Dungannon

Cambridge House Grammar School v Grosvenor Grammar School

Carrickfergus Grammar School v Lurgan College

Foyle College v Larne Grammar School

The fixtures are scheduled to be played on Saturday, January 10 2015.

Prior to these games Antrim Grammar School and Strabane Academy will meet on Saturday 6th December to earn a place in the first round.

The seven round one winners will be joined in the second-round draw by Bangor Grammar School, Belfast High School, Belfast Royal Academy, Dalriada School, Down High School, Omagh Academy, Portora Royal School, Rainey Endowed School and Royal School Armagh.

Holders Methodist College, along with seven other seeded teams, will enter the competition in round three.
