Charlie Gaile Festival of Darts

Darts players from across the province will make their way to Ballykelly this weekend to battle for honours in the Charlie Gaile Festival of Darts.

Charlie Gaile himself was one of our top international players who qualified for the World Championship at the Lakeside earning himself ‘The Smiling Irish Man’ nickname.

In years past it has been blessed with visits from many top class players from England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland.

This year top BDO international Ross Montgomery and Welsh lady Lynn Cowan are making the trip to the Drummond Hotel to grace the oche.

Organiser Joe Donnelly says the event has grown greatly over the past number of years with many new faces turning up for a great weekend of darts.

The event has now added the Charlie Wright Memorial Pairs this Saturday.

Charlie Wright was a gentleman who travelled across the globe to grace the oche where he made many friends and it is fitting that his memorial is added to this weekend.
