Clans league status secured

LAST Sunday's win over Cullaville has secured Clan na Gael's status in the First Division of Armagh Football.

The Francis Street side have one game remaining to be played against Dromintee and, although Mullaghbawn won last Sunday, it was not enough to save the South Armagh side from joining Killeavey in next season’s Division Two.

Although still a relatively young side, the Clans will be expecting further improvement in 2011.

With last season’s promoted teams, Maghery and Whitecross, fairing well in Division One, next season’s campaign could be even tougher with Ballymacnab, already promoted, being joined by either Granemore or Armagh Harps who will play off for second place.

In the third division, the best ire g can hope for is an end of season play-off to avoid the drop but this situation depends on the result of the Beleeks against St Paul’s game this weekend.
