He went on to say that a lot of hard work had went on at the club during the off-season to further the facilities, forge new sponsor partnerships and attract new members before offering a warm welcome to the new members, dignitaries from the council, NIPBA and sponsors.

As is the tradition at Coleraine, the secretary called upon the President’s wife Jenny to officially open the 2013 season by throwing the silver jack and first bowl, which was presented to the club back in 1903. Lady President Nora Lafferty then threw the first bowl to open the Ladies section. Vice-President Basil Kennedy presented Jenny with a bouquet of flowers on behalf of the club and the Ladies presented Nora with a gift for her part in the opening.

The club flag was presented to President Sam McArthur by Past President Liam Hickey before being raised to the top of the mast in the presence of Mayor Sam Cole, NIPBA representatives and members of the management committee.

Speeches were then carried out by President Sam McArthur, Lady President Nora Lafferty, NIPBA Vice-President Kieran Adams, NIPBA Ladies President Betty Linton and Mayor Sam Cole before Hon. Secretary Jordan Dallas closed the proceedings with a number of announcements before grace was said and a wonderful meal was had by all.
