Carrick suffer heavy defeat to Woodvale

Carrickfergus Cricket Club 1st XI suffered a heavy 83-run defeat at the hands of an understrength Woodvale team at Ballygomartin Road on Saturday.

Seconds win opening game

Carrick’s 2nd XI won their opening game of the season against Laurelvale II by the comfortable margin of nine wickets at Middle Road on Saturday.

The visitors batted first and were bowled out for 58 in only 29.4 overs.

Adam Sisson took three wickets, Gary Thompson two, and Jack Burton and Simon Scott picked up a wicket each.

Three schoolboys knocked off the required runs for Carrick in only 12.5 overs. Adam Fittis finished unbeaten on 38 which included six boundaries, and he was assisted by Samuel Osborne, and then Jack Burton.
