Dream start for North West Warriors as Leinster Lightning forced to follow on

The North West Warriors enjoyed one of their best ever days in interprovincial competition after making the Leinster Lightning follow on in Clontarf on Tuesday.

The Warriors were dismissed for 260 batting first with South African professional Marco Marais top scoring with 69 and Stuart Thompson (41) and Andy McBrine (42) making useful contributions.

The home side were then bowled out for just 101 with Thompson and Craig Young both taking three wickets apiece and Graeme McCarter taking two. The Lightning closed their second innings on two without loss and the action continues tomorrow morning.
