Victoria travelled to Edinburgh last weekend for their pre-season trip to take on Leith Franklin Academicals. The match was played on Leith Links, disputed to have been the site of the very first golf course.

Robert Black and Matthew Parks took to the crease and made a bright start, scoring at a healthy rate. Parks departed for 13 in the sixth over. Black was joined by Adam McClelland and they began to build a sizeable partnership, as they managed 29 in eight overs before McClelland departed for 19 and was followed shortly after by Black (14). Glenn Thompson departed for 21, breaking a partnership of 27 with Stuart Copeland. Jordan Walsh departed next ball.

Patrick McVey got off the mark with a boundary and another partnership of over 20 between McVey and Copeland. They eventually finish on 114-9 off their 30 overs.

Stuart Copeland struck with a wicket maiden in the third over, as Leith had only four runs on the board. Leith had reached 35 in the eighth over when Copeland ran out the other opening batsman.

Ben Johnston got a deserved wicket two overs later, thanks to a world class catch by Inch.

Bartsch came in and got to grips with the conditions scoring 58 to give the hosts a seven wicket win in the 17th over.
