NORTH West and Irish cricket continues to go from strength to strength with the news that teenaged seam bowler Graeme McCarter has been awarded his county cap by Gloucestershire.

The 19-year-old was presented with his cap by Gloucestershire Chairman Rex Brody before the start of their County Championship fixture against Yorkshire at Bristol, yesterday (Thursday).

The former Killyclooney and Fox Lodge player made a successful start to his senior career by taking three wickets on debut at Lord’s against Middlesex earlier in the week.
