Having beaten Campbell College Junior School, Lurgan Junior High School and Antrim Grammar school along the way, this was a fantastic achievement for the Year 8 team.

Captain Todd Killen put in a match winning performance scoring an excellent 42 runs and then removing their opening batsman with the first ball of the Banbridge innings.

Dylan Lynch and Matthew Rowe did the main damage with the ball taking four and three wickets each respectively.

Unfortunately the schools Under 13 team came up short against Ballymena Academy when both teams contested the Under 13 Slemish Final played at Ballymena Cricket Club, last Tuesday.

Although Lisneal scored a competitive 102 runs in their 25 overs thanks mainly to a fantastic 62 not out from captain Jordan Killen, Ballymena reached their target with three overs to spare for the loss of only three wickets.

This was disappointing for the Under 13 team, having defeated Dungannon Royal and Foyle & Londonderry College in previous rounds, hopes were high that Lisneal would keep hold of the trophy they won last season, but it wasn’t to be this time around, but one thing is for sure they will be back next year.

Meanwhile things are starting to hot up in both the Long’s Supervalu Premiership and Championship.

Coleraine and Eglinton both lead the way in the Premiership.

At the other end, Bready look to be really up against it now as they are still without a league success and are four points behind both Fox Lodge and champions Donemana.

In the Championship things are even more closer with St Johnston currently sitting two points clear of Ardmore.

While Killyclooney, just like Bready, are still winless, but they are just two points behind duo Sion Mills and Burndennett and more importantly have played less games.
