North West launch new senior indoor cricket league

The North West Development Team has announced this week that it intends to launch a ‘senior’ indoor league to run alongside the recently advertised Primary School Leagues taking place this coming winter.

NW Development Officer, Brian Allen, said the competition was open to clubs generally or individual players who could make up their own teams, and that the format wouldn’t be restricted to any specific venue.

“We will be using a leather indoor ball that doesn’t require full protective equipment and the league is open to absolutely anyone.

“It is designed to give current players a longer season and new players a taste of competitive cricket.

“We hope to generate enough interest that we are able to bring the sport to new areas and venues throughout the North West which in turn will hopefully mean more people playing cricket.”
