The teenager had a five-wicket haul during his side’s comprehensive 121-run win over Glendermott.

The 14-year-old spinner took 5-19 as Glendermott were dismissed for just 86.

Normally the winner receives a bottle of champagne, but given his tender years a voucher for sports goods was presented to the teenager by former Strabane and North West legend Paddy Gillespie.

Chopra beat off the challenge of the Bready duo of Ernest Kemm and Craig Young, who scored 125 and took six for 29 respectively during their side’s 214-run win over Creevedonnell on Saturday.

Brigade professional Digvijay Amarnath also got an honourable mention from the adjudicators for his five for 19 which helped Brigade oust Fox Lodge in a hard fought contest.

Meanwhile the North West have named their Under 17 squad which will play their LCU counterparts in a winner takes all clash at North County this Friday.

The Ireland squad which will play in the European Challenge will be selected following the conclusion of the game which gets under way at 12noon.

The NW are considering laying on a bus for family and supporters - cost will be £10 with Fox Lodge being the pick-up/drop off point.

The NW squad is as follows: W McBrine, G McClintock, W McClintock, J Robinson (all Donemana), L Hayes, A Heywood (both Fox Lodge), A Gillespie (Strabane), A Austin (Bready), R Brolly (Ardmore), R McBeth (St Johnston), M Barr (Killyclooney), M Smyth (Coleraine).

While the North West have named their squad which will play in the U13 Inter-pro series in Dublin next month.

The games against the LCU and NCU take place from July 2-4 and the squad is as follows: Adam Boyd, Aiden Logue. Alistair Doherty, Ben Mills, Gregory McFaul, Jacob Logan Wilson, Jason Dunn, Kyle Magee, Levi Dougherty, Marcus Poskitt, Patrick Carson, Rhys Logue, William Finlay.
