DARTS: Fairview Bar leads the way in Friday Night Darts League

Last week saw the first round of Estate Services Friday Night Darts League action and it was the Fairview darts team who lead the way after enjoying a comprehensive victory over their hosts, Oakgrove, by 20 legs to 6.

Mailey’s Bar also enjoyed a comfortable start with victory over George’s Bar by 19 legs to 6. In the night’s other two matches, the Phoenix Bar edged out the Carraig bar in a fiercely contested match by 14 legs to 11 while the Castle Bar got their season up and running in their new home by completing a narrow victory over their neighbours Tracey’s, edging over the line by 14 legs to 11

Mailey’s Sean Wilson set the early benchmark for highest checkout by compiling out a magnificent 138. It was closely followed by Mark Hegarty with a nice 112. Next best came from JP McElhinney with a 106 finish.

If the opening week scoring form is anything to go by, then this is promising be a record breaking season for all teams involved

There was in total 198 tons plus scores recorded great darts all round.
