The locals set about their mission with intent.

However a change of tactic from their hosts resulted in them pinning Town back into their own half.

The hosts pressure paid off when centre half Martin gave away possession on the edge of the box and his clumsy foul gave the home side a cheap free kick.

Crewe seized this chance and the subsequent free kick was drilled into the bottom left hand corner of the net.

The visitors came out of the blocks in the second half and returned to their short sharp passing and fluid movement up top from Hayes and McCavitt.

Within 10 minutes Town had levelled after a great ball in from Orr and clever knock down from McCavitt found left back Close who drilled the ball in to the net.

Minutes later Town won a free kick about 25 yards out and quick thinking by McCavitt slid Close in down the side of the wall and the latters cross cannoned in off a home defender.

Johnston was also unlucky minutes earlier when his volley whistled just wide.

Town’s third came on 70 minutes after a good move down the right broke to right back Orr who drove home a thunderous shot.

However this rallied the home side who on winning a corner on the 77th minute, and after a goal mouth scramble, bundled the ball in at the back post.

Soon after tempers flared, the home side had a man sent off for kicking out at Town midfielder Heaney.

The home side then pressed for an equaliser leaving gaps at the back which substitute Monaghan exploited.

From the resulting free kick, another sub, Jordan forced the ball through the wall to find Hayes who volleyed home.

Man of the match went to midfielder Toner who controlled the play and dictated the tempo of the match.

Town AFC now move on to their next game against local rivals Banbridge Rangers.
