Back to back wins for Village Reserves

THE Reserves made it back to back wins by beating the newly promoted Derryhirk at Havelock Park on Saturday.

The Village raced into a 3-0 early in the first half.

Cliffy Sands opened the scoring after good work down the left from Scott Bradman. Sands then turned provider for Joe Meara who headed in from a cross from the right hand side.

Chris Crawford made it 3-0 shortly after, on his welcome to a yellow shirt after a long spell on the sidelines through injury. Seapatrick let Derryhirk back into the game conceding a soft goal from a free-kick shortly before half-time.

Derryhirk narrowed the lead to 3-2 ten minutes into the second half when the defence failed to clear their lines leaving the Derryhirk frontman to knock the ball past Andrews.

The midfield four played some good football and carved open the Derryhirk defence on a number of occasions but the net and the all important fourth goal to seal the victory could not be found until ten minutes from time when Cliffy Sands through ball found David Dawson who calmly finished when one on one with the keeper.

The Reserves played some very good football in spells, and will hope to carry their good form through to next week when they face Rockview United at Havelock Park in Mid Ulster Shied.
