A first-half penalty from Mark Miskimmin got the ball rolling for Eddie Patterson’s men at Dixon Park, before Calum Birney doubled their advantage with a firm header midway through the second-half.

Ballyclare were left facing an uphill battle against the Irish Cup champions when skipper Andrew Doyle saw red just before the break after picking up two yellow cards.
