This Friday night, the first competition will be staged in Murphy’s Bar, Dungiven.

This is the popular Area 10 individuals tournament and it is open to anyone to enter with a registration time of up to 8.15pm for an 8.30pm start.

The entry fee will be £5 per player and all the prize money will be paid out on the night.

Last year’s winner was Paul Brown and the former Coleraine, Institute, Ballymena United and Limavady United striker is expected to return to defend his title.

Meanwhile, The Depot Bar & Night Club in Limavady will host a £500 singles competition this Sunday also with an entry fee of £5.

The registration time for players is 1pm for a 2pm start and the prize money for the singles competition is £200 (winner); £100 (runner-up); £50 (beaten semi-finalists) and £25 (beaten quarter-finalists).

There will also be a “doubles” competition and a youths competition (£2 entry fee).

Due to the large crowd expected for this event, which is based on last year’s competition, please arrive in good time for registration.

United Supporters Meeting

THE City of Derry Manchester United Supporters Club are looking for new members ahead of the new season.

The club’s first meeting takes place in Brigade Cricket Club, on Thursday, July 4, at 8pm sharp. There is a monthly meeting every second Thursday of each month.
