Striker David McDaid gave City the perfect start making no mistake heading home Simon Madden’s fourth minute cross, before substitutes Patrick McEleney and Michael Rafter linked up to score that all important second goal on 77 minutes.

McEleney’s defensive splitting pass send the ex-Dundalk man clear and he made no mistake calmly slotting the ball past the out-rushing Wanderers keeper Darren Quigley.

Both sides had chances with Bray youngster Ismahil Akinade missing a few clear cut opportunties, with City keeper Gerard Doherty called into action, while at the other end the league’s leading marksman Rory Patterson was denied by the woodwork, Michael Duffy and McDaid were also denied by Quigley.
