Wakehurst are today’s opponents at Dixon Park (3pm) and for Reds boss, Eddie Hill, it’s business as usual.

Speaking ahead of today’s match, he told the Times: “They [Wakehurst] never give us an easy time. We had to work hard to get a 3-1 result against them in the autumn, so I will be impressing upon the players that nothing less than 100 per cent effort against them will do.

“Thankfully, we have no injuries to contend with, but we will monitor knocks picked up by our central defenders Andrew Doyle and Evan Forsythe.

“Thankfully Chris Shimmon is fully fit. Chris didn’t join us until the end of January, yet his four against PSNI last Saturday took his total to a phenomenal 21, so he is streets ahead of anyone else in the quest for the Top Scorer’s Trophy.

“I was just a little apprehensive about our visit to Newforge, but our crisp passing and movement off the ball ensured that we always had time and space on the ball, and indeed we could have won by a wider margin, and I hope that we can carry that form into Saturday’s crucial fixture.

“Our two defeats during the Easter period are now a distant memory, and I hope that we will give the faithful fans even more to cheer about on Saturday.”
