The hosts were comprehensively defeated 5-0 by a superior Donaghmore who had too much athleticism and quality for Rangers.

Donaghmore broke the deadlock with a stunning 35 yard strike and made it 2-0 with a fantastic free-kick from the same player.

Greg Douglas came agonisingly close to handing his side a lifeline when a curling shot struck the Donaghmore post.

The visitors scored twice more before the interval to give themselves an unassailable lead.

The second half brought about a much improved performance from the hosts. Greg Douglas’ incisive through ball set up Stephen Gass who rounded the keeper but the defender blocked his goal bound shot.

Rangers then had two efforts cleared off the goal line and a shot that hit the post before Donaghmore’s star man completed his hat-trick.

Best for Scarva Rangers – Gregory Douglas.
