Dream start to Milk Cup for Co Armagh

Co Armagh Juniors opened their Milk Cup campaign with a 3-1 win over Swindon Town at Anderson Park on Monday afternoon.

Darragh Gray opened the scoring but Swindon hit back to make it 1-1 at the break.

However, Co Armagh kept up the good work in the second half and goals from Mark Lucas and John Lee secured a perfect start to the competition.

“It was a great start to the competition,” said Dean McCullough, the County Armagh Milk Cup Association chairman. “We were especially impressed with the work-rate of the boys and how they displayed real energy as a team.”

COUNTY ARMAGH JUNIORS: Tyler Boyce, Sean Toman, John Lee McAfee, Daniel McKeown, Ben Davison, Cathal McGinty, Luke Wilson, Oisin Smyth, Darragh Gray, Mark Lucas, Barney McKeown. Subs (used): Alberto Balde, Tom Weir, Robbie McAteer.

Co Armagh face Co Tyrone on Tuesday at the Riada Stadium, Ballymoney, kick-off 3.30pm.
