The opening minutes were scrappy, Briggs had a couple of tame shots and Jason took a nasty knock in the penalty area and had to be substituted with Liam coming on.

Dromore had two claims for penalties waved away and a goal disallowed. The defence of Morgan, Joel, Patrick and Nathan held the line well, with Josh sweeping up any through balls.

Craigavon’s only real chance came from a corner and their number 10 came in at the back post to score with a header.

The second half by Dromore was better as the lads started to pass the ball around nicely.

The first goal for Dromore came from a good run by Briggs (playing a new midfield position), who passed the ball to Karl who buried it in the righthand corner.

It was then Josh’s turn to provide an assist as his clearance bounced over the defence and Karl picked up the loose ball, rounded the advancing keeper and slotted the ball home.

Josh nearly repeated the move moments later with an even longer clearance but this time the referee blew Karl offside.

Karl then flashed another ball across and Euan almost got a toe on it. Karl, within minutes, did get an assist from the corner when no one picked Liam coming in from the edge of the box, to finish right footed into the roof of the net, for his debut goal.

Phillip covered the ground well in midfield and he passed with great accuracy. This was a very physical game and a Craigavon player was red carded for a bad tackle on Karl.

Adam then scored the fourth goal he well deserved for all his good work up and down the line.

With the result secured he pushed further forward and received a great cross from Briggs, with his back to goal he swivelled onto his right foot and sent a neat finish into the bottom right.
