East Antrim teams aim for Cup progress

The 2013 Coca-Cola Intermediate Cup kicks off this weekend with 13 East Antrim teams aiming to book their spot in the second round.

Ballynure Old Boys, fresh from a 5-0 success over rivals FC Ballynure, are at home to AFC Craigavon.

Kilroot Rec have yet to win a league game this season and they will be hoping to break a losing sequence with victory away at Ballywalter Rec. Another Carrick-based club, Barn United, have home comfort against Fivemiletown United, while Gordon Chambers’ FC Ballynure are also on their own patch against Dungiven.

UUJ, under Darrach Teague, are on the road to Broomhill, while former Northern Ireland international Colin O’Neill, takes Wellington Rec to Camlough Rovers.

Nortel, currently riding high in the Amateur League’s top-flight, make the trip to Downpatrick, and near neighbours 18th Newtownabbey are also away from home, up against Lower Maze.

There’s an Intermediate Cup debut for Rathcoole FC atgainst Lisanally Rangers, while Rathfern Rangers meet Ards II.

Mossley and Larne Tech are away to Mountjoy United and Newtowne, respectively and Islandmagee travel to Richhill.
