Ferguson ponders changes for Glentoran clash

The Sky Blues boss will consider his starting line-up for this Saturday’s home game against Glentoran (3pm) as he seeks a response to the surprise 3-0 loss in Fermanagh which dumped United off the top of the Danske Bank Premiership table.

“We knew it was going to be difficult maintaining our level of performance from earlier in the season but we thought we could do it,” said Ferguson.

“We need to be more consistent and our quality needs to improve. The players have proved in other matches that they can do it so there are no excuses.

“If we need to make changes we will do that - we have players ready and willing to come in.

“We’ve said all along that if the players in the team are playing well, they will stay there but some of them were well short of their normal standard.

“Saturday’s result is now gone - you can’t do anything about that one other than work hard to improve on it in the next game.

“We have a tough game against Glentoran but it’s a great chance to bounce back against one of the big teams in the league.

“One thing is sure - if we put in the type of performance that we did at Ballinamallard, we won’t get anything from this game.

“We need to put in the work rate, desire and commitment and the quality will come out after that,” added Ferguson.
